Michelle Temeyer


Michelle joined the Waterloo Community Foundation in April 2015 as its first Executive Director. She has extensive knowledge of the community having served as the Executive Director and Community Outreach Coordinator for Black Hawk County Extension and Outreach for nearly 5 years; Director of Community Education for the Waterloo Community Schools for 16 years and Deputy Clerk Auditor and Associate City Planner for the City of Waterloo for a total of 17 years.

She currently serves as a Greater Cedar Valley Chamber Ambassador, Big Sister with the Big Sisters Big Brothers Program of Northeast Iowa, member of Waterloo Exchange Club, member of Brothers of Knowledge Promise Fund Steering Committee, and board member of Build Our Ballpark. In 2016, she and her husband, Don, served as co-chairs of the Cedar Valley United Way campaign.

She is a graduate of Benton Community High School (Van Horne, Iowa) and graduate of Luther College, with a BA in Political Science and Business Administration. She grew up on the farm in Benton County and has been a Waterloo resident in her entire adult life.
